Post Does anyone think G1's are too easy to win??
I have never seen so many game horses with 10+ G1 wins, I know we have more G1's but still it is FAR too easy. To be fair I am only playing on easy mode at the moment and beginning to get a bit bored with it (may transfer my best into a hard mode game), but even with people who claim to play on normal or hard these horses keep racking up the G1 wins! Personally I don't like it, it is far too easy to breed a 'monster' horse with these horses available in the breeding barn. Has anyone got any explanations as to why there are lots of gamebreds racking up the G1 wins?

I initially thought it was because I had just started the game and there wasn't much to challenge them, but I'm 8 seasons in now and there are still gamebreds winning 10, 15, 20+ G1's?!

This is on the default schedule with a few minor alterations, I didn't add many G1's, mostly listed, G3 and handicap races. In my opinion some of the schedules made seem to make winning G1's too easy, but it is hard for me to comment because I haven't used them and I don't know how good people's horses, or their opposition are.

Any comments?

to be Honest Supercat in every version of starters orders once you are 5 or 6 season in it has always become easy and
it does not matter what schedule you use it still becomes easy.

Once you get a few generations of breeding you start to create superstars
there are though a few g1s that are far from easy the arc and some of the breeders cup races some of the Dubai world cup night races

allot of the 3yo classic races are easy
they are only easy because of your breeding operation and it starts to dominate

I for one don’t get bored with winning I love the world domination side of the game
once the game gets way too easy I start to build a league team and trial and beating your best ck times becomes a great challenge

The game is too easy on hard so never bothered with playing on easy.

The reason there are multiple group 1 winners as opposed to real life is that horses race until 7 sometimes 8. A good game horse will win between 3 or 4 group 1's in a season which is not excessive and that leads to the large number of group 1 wins.

The oaks is too easy to win. Its always the 1st group 1 I win. Has been the case in all the SO's

The game is great on hard. It takes a while to build up enough money to start competing. However once you have a breeding barn it becomes way to easy. You can buy old mare's for between £2000 and £5000 breed them with a grade 1 winner for a fee of about £16000 and make a fortune when you sell the offspring. To make the game harder the breeding fees for bad mares would need to be looked at.

Once I have mastered the game I concentrate on breeding league horses. I don't get bored trying to breed a new superstar.

And you can set yourself challenges like winning all 30 races in the same season at Ascot in the flat game or all the races at the Cheltenham festival in the jumps game. Both are really hard to do. Keeps the game interesting.

PJ I don't mean with your own horses. Like you I like winning ALL of the races, but I am finding it far too easy on easy; I'm winning them with bad animals. My point is that there are AI owned GAMEBREDS in the game winning a huge amount of G1's.

Leonvr, it's not just the age thing. There are a couple of horses in my game who win 5-10 G1's in a season, one is an 8yo now and has won something like 34 G1's!!! Even if Frankel, STS, Harbinger etc stayed in training until they were 8 they still wouldn't have won 20+ G1's. It's stupid and I wonder if it's a bug, or to do with the extra races, or if the game doesn't make enough 'good' horses for these races... I have found I can beat these multiple G1 winners with fairly average horses, so maybe the game doesn't give them enough competition...

I think you should play on hard. I have only seen the odd horse winning multiple group 1's and they have been kind of like Frankel. The most in my game by a game bred was 25 and he won them from age 2 to 7. I can't comment on playing on easy a I have always played on hard and even many season into the game some of the group 1's can be a challenge ( Not the Oaks!!! which is never a challenge )

The problem is not the amount of group 1 races but the overseas horses and overseas group 1 races. If the overseas horses were stronger and there were more of them ( and to make the game more difficult excluded from breeding ) then there would be a better spread of group 1 winners.

The amount of overseas group 1's inflate the amount of wins as the overseas horses don't win many of them.

I don't think its something that can be fixed quickly and I love the game and it doesn't bother me much but then again I haven't been playing on easy.

I've made the G1's harder by restricting G1 winners from other group races in my schedule, but the problem no one has mentioned yet is the fact that game horses can race over and over again without a break. The multiple group 1 winners can race 15-20 times a season, and if they are UK trained, can race 'til 8 or 9 years old.

It's purely because they race many times a season, I find decent gamebreds tend to perform well in 10f and 12f races and can clean up.

The stage that I am at in the game means that it is very rate for me to lose a G1, if it was real life people would stop going to the races and my horses would all start 10/1 on. The ones I lose will tend to be the 3yo races where I have concentrated on a particular distance and been left with some duds at certain distances.

I will only race my horses 4 or 5 times a season so it’s rare for them to build up more than 10 G1s. My lines are always improving so the 3yos coming through start beating them. I really don’t chase multiple G1 victories as I like to spread the love around. If a horse of mine hasn’t won a G1 I will try and target one for him which is weird because I won’t retire him to the breeding barn... I’m just sympathetic.

It’s quite good to spot good gamebreds though because if I lose a G1 fairly then I sit up and take notice. Problem is, at the moment, the game is saying they are retired to the barn but they aren’t. Annoying!

Yes I found that annoying too. Missed a few good ones at the start of my game because of this. There is a B next to their name but they don't appear in the breeding barn. Happens quite often.

The better they are the more likely they are to not appear it seems!

There was one horse that was ridiculous over 5 and 6f til it was about 5 then it disappeared. Turned up this season, aged 9, in the breeding barn with a finishing rating of 84! Sent a few sympathy hos his way to say thanks for the good times
