'Stayers' that are CLEARLY better over shorter distances.
I've got a couple of horses that fit into the above category - I have one horse that wants 2m+, but is incapable of coming close to winning over that distance. And yet......this horse won both the Derby and the Irish Derby - after both races the jockey stated that the horse needed further. In fact the jockey said the horse needed further after being defeated in the Goodwood Cup over 2m.
I've got a filly similar to this. They are getting on my nerves!

Don't say that! Distance adaptability is something we have been pushing for for years! Personally I think it's great, who cares about jockey comments we all know they are quite often inaccurate once we know our horses.
Also horses stay further with age, and some become more adaptable with age. So if you're one is still 3yo it probably won't stay 2m yet. I have one out of a 2m3f mare, by a 2m1f stallion who doesn't stay 2m yet, but who isn't quite quick enough to win a top class 1m4f-1m6f race.

I second that SC, horse adaptability over various distances is something that we have wanted for some time. The skill of the trainer (or people who play the game for accuracy!) lies in being able to know your horses preferences.

Never mind, turns out the male horse in question was able to hack up the 2m4f races as a 4yo, as well as be effective over 1m4f. Still struggles over 2m though
