In the league the races will be run as they are in real life, 2yo only. Obviously the Nunthorpe and Abbaye are open as in real life.

In trials I run as 2yo only and try not to have pacemakers as it is unrealistic for the league. Instead try and use an early or handy horse, they provide a longer gallop anyway.

I don't know.. maybe it's just me but I see a .5 sec differential between only 2 yr old races and open races. Can I suggest trying your horses at 7f and set to 2 year old only? I'd be keen to see what your best time would be under that condition.



I don't see a lot of difference between pacemaker and non pacemaker races but I suspect that's because I have a lot of horses that run handy as you have suggested.

ran a few trials under the conditions you advised akhc and there does appear to be half a second difference
