Sorry for asking lots of silly questions before I even take the plunge but I was reading through the forums and saw that there were lots of patches to rectify problems and glitches in the game.

If I buy SO5 now will all these patches already be incorporated into the program.

yes all new releases should have latest patches

you wil get so5 v1.024 i believe

the game automaticlly patches itself anyway really
its very straight forward

a warning its massivly addictive

i have a question about the patch system as well. my current version displays version 1.016 and apparently there is a newer version available according to this thread. i am aware that there is supposed to be an "update" button on the main page, but there is nothing at all similar to that and i have checked every place i know to check. am i missing something? is there not just a link i can donwload to update the version of the game?

any help would be appreciated. thank you in advance.

When you start the game up the first screen shows the version number in the lower left had side of that screen (above the license info). Just make sure you're online before starting the game and the game automatically checks for a new patch and if there is one there will be a globe button to press above the version number which will download the latest version.

Have you installed the update that was included in your Key Email?

thanks for the help so far.

i bought the game back in june near release i think. the version that is displaying at the moment is 1.016 and there is no update button displaying above that. i believe that once or twice before i have seen this update button and all worked just fine. if my version is the correct one, then i guess there is nothing to worry about however, from what ive read in this thread im behind a version. im currently online as well so it should find the update if one exists.

You're not up to date. Follow the steps in your email you received when you bought the game. If you've lost that email contact support. Assuming you've followed the steps in email the globe should be there to update the game. If not try reinstalling and following all the steps in the email above and if this fails then contact support. Good luck!

We're on v 1.026 at the moment (15/10/12), so you're quite a few behind mate.
