 Re: Preliminary Schedule
I haven't looked at my NH lot yet but from last season I would say you want all of:
2m Bumper (NHF) 2m Hurdler 4yo only and older male+female 2m Chaser 2m2/3 Hurdler 2m2/3 Chaser 2m5/6 Hurdler 2m5/6 Chaser 3m Hurdler 3m Chaser 3m2 Chaser 3m4 Chaser 4m+ Chaser
Also there are Mares only races but I cant remember what distances and whether hurdles or chases. Try and login in to TOM and check the schedule.
You will find it very hard to have good staying chasers, though hopefully Im wrong and you have a National horse! Im not the best to advise on the NH but id start with what I've put and go from there.

 Re: Preliminary Schedule
thanks matt really appreciate it..i will work on those distances..i heard it is best to use leftover flat horses and trial them for the nhc..is that what u and paul are doing?or are u guys starting a jumps game and breeding jump horses only?

 Re: Preliminary Schedule
Im a novice when it comes to the jumps game. For me it takes a long time to get good jumpers, but I am probably doing it wrong. So yes I use my flat exports which didn't make the team for the league. I think thats the best way to do it. As its only your first season I wouldn't worry too much about it mate but try and get a good number together but make sure its a balanced stable. There is no point having too many horses which want the same distance.

 Re: Preliminary Schedule
i got my league squad ready..so i looked at the schedule to see which horses to enter in each race..and im happy to find that all 19 horses will have a chance to race in maidens or listed races for their first race within 1f of their distance, except one horse thats a 3yo 12f colt which will run in a group 3 in week 3 for its first start..is that ok for this horse to race in a group 3 for its first race?..

I would probably not start off in a Group3 knowing what I know about the league now. In my first season I had to do that and it ruined that horses season as his rating went up too much for him to be able to win a handicap. What is your team? Not the horses but age and distance? 3yo filly 7f 4yo colt 10f etc

 Re: Preliminary Schedule
good advice dont aim too high at start you can always upgrade after success at a lower level you can never go back once a horse has run in group company it get rated very high even if it bombs i did that in my 1st season and they just were not good enough if i had managed them better i could have won a fair few handicaps maybe even major handicaps with them but they never got there rating low enough to be competitiive
Matt has given the soundest advice possible
i will be upgrading slowly maiden handicap listed group if they are good enough

 Re: Preliminary Schedule
Id avoid the listed races too. I think a lot of the maidens in week1 will have two divisions meaning you can have two entries.

 Re: Preliminary Schedule
Week one needs a 1m4 3yo maiden, scrap one of the obscure distance races for it!
There is 2m and a 2m2 maiden for 3yos, plus there is two 1m maidens for 4yo+, one of them should go for a 1m4 3yo maiden, if you have 10f and 12f 3yos you only have one maiden to go for.
