Post Nightmare!
I decided today I wanted to ride a horse in the national that had a chance of winning. Started a new flat game and did te betting 'cheat'. Went to the sales and after a few months bought an unraced 4yo colt, breeding 2m4 out of a group 1 winner, for £176000. Entered it in a 2mile handicap first run, won. Stepped up to group 3 in the Henry viii stakes at sandown, but trip was too short. Bypassed the ascot gold cup in favour of the queen Alexandra, and hacked up. Next out in the Doncaster cup, again outpaced. Entered the cadran, just held on to win. Looks like the ideal horse for the national. That was the good bit. I also bid for a horse that had racked up a hatrick of wins in 1m4 feature handicaps. Easily had enough money as it only sold for a couple of hundred thousand, but when I went to bid for it it turned out my stables were full. Cursing my bad luck I saw it as an opportunity missed but still, it could surely only be a handicapper. Upon ending the season, it turned out it was horse of the year, having won everything there was to win over 1m4. And then the following year it was the same. Has anyone else had a nightmare scenario like this before?

Too many times to remember! Put it down to experience and move on, or keep opening up new games on easy until you get a horse equivalent to it.

Happens to me all the time, I tend to buy horses that I think are good...turn out to be donkeys, and, the ones that I let go in auctions..turn out to be group winners.

Same for me as well! Its a little annoying considering the ones I release are at least half a second slower in the CK, on the gallops and when I raced them together but send them to an AI trainer and they become world beaters!

I have even bought a couple back but their stats havent changed! I dont know what that says about me as a trainer though!

I had an horse that i had bought as a 2 year old & it refused to enter the stalls on 6 straight occasions no matter what i did with it it just wouldn't enter the stalls so i sold it & it has won 6 races in a row including a group 1

Bred a horse who was always outpaced in the gallops against the other 2yo's. Entered him in a couple of maidens, but was no good. So I sold him. Made a nice bit of money.

4 seasons later......

I was scrolling through the list of stallions and mares in the breeding barn...
And what do I see??
The same horse... Having won something like 20 group 1's and 10 group 2's!!!
So I sent some of my mares to him, and managed to get some very good 2yo's in the long run.

So it all worked out I guess
