Post Re: TOM 11 - Uploads testing
Thanks again for the testing and the very constructive feedback. There is a solid base of code from past versions of TOM - as I've said, this is an opportunity to keep the best bits and add improvements where possible.

There are some simple fixes listed above which I will work through.

My coding time is very limited so I can't promise anything too rapid. The other priority is an edit horse function eg you select the wrong gender. I'll also add the option to retire horses which should be relatively straight-forward.

I also need to put some time into importing the schedule. The schedule is complete but I need to make it compatible for the table structure to enable advanced searching and reporting. Once that is done, we can start the process of checking entering of races which is always a complicated given the wide range of rules and race types.

My aim is to be testing race entries by the weekend but that depends on a range of factors (including my energy levels!).

DD

View all trainers should now be working correctly. Please advise if not.

I don't like the navigation as it stands - will look to add some context sensitive links later on.

Good point. I'm always nervous about a delete function but it needs to be included. There are two options - allow trainers to have this option but only during upload windows or give admins the option to do this. The problem is that deleting a horse could be a way of bypassing the retirement process. I suppose the other question is when would you want to delete a horse rather than edit it?

Well I suppose during the upload window at the very least. The main point being uploading the wrong horse by mistake. I don't see the point of making this an admin only function but that's a choice for management to make.

BTW I can see the other stables now.

A geographical region that can't beat the dirty, cheating, filthy Aussies in rugby is hardly able to claim nationality status!

But for you, consider it done. Simple Minds. That goes back 30 years or so.

UPDATE:

I've added Wales but not sure what your TOM logon is or indeed if you have registered. If you have registered, please let me know and I will change your country to Wales.

All good. I see you have registered now and have selected Wales.

Just a note to everyone - I have added additional columns to your stable view which will eventually allow you to Edit, Delete, and Retire horses (and in time transfer to other leagues). Note that the images display but there is no code behind them ie they don't work.

Agree re Simple Minds and their early stuff. Have had a few of the late 70's/early 80's bands in NZ the last year or two looking to bump up their retirements funds - I've managed to catch the Buzzcocks, Gang of Four and Specials over the last 18 months.

I've manually approved your registration so it's all go.

I missed the Damned earlier this year (also in Auckland but I'm an hour's flight south in Wellington). Apparently they had been rehearsing and it was a great concert.

Dave

I can't check your user details unless I now your account so please let me know what you have logged on as.

You can access the Upload page from View My Stable page (it's at the end of the links) above your stable listing. You can also access the page from the menu TOM - Main Menu > View My Stable > Upload Horse.

I should also repeat that we are very much in testing mode and all data will be deleted before the season gets under way.

Hi

There is no TOM user with that name nor is there one in the unverified queue. Are you sure you have completed the TOM registration process on this page:

http://sopl.info/wp-login.php?action=register

You have to register separately for these boards AND TOM.
