 Re: Best Named Horses.....
I've had a few I've quite liked:
Hay Good Looking Hay Hey Baby Pony N' Guy Frank LeHoof Ruud Van Nistlepony
Named one Monster (not original but he won 32/32 races) and One McCain (Frankel approach named after a great trainer which won 31/34 races including £15M prize money)

 Re: Best Named Horses.....
Don't really have any great names at the moment, but I get all of mine from randomly listening to songs. I will just take a line from a song that I like and apply it as a name. For instance, I will listen to Sounds of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel and get the name My Old Friend or Darknessmyoldfriend just from the first line. Then every time the horse races I feel the need to sing a bit of the song to myself. haha

 Re: Best Named Horses.....
My very first breeding produced a great filly who won 6 races as a 2yo including 3 G1s. she then came out the following season and won a G2 and then the G1 1000 Gns.
Unfortunately she went through her racing life under the name of "UN-NAMED" as I didn't realise the naming window slammed shut minutes after you receive the horse.
The horse did slow down a bit after her Guineas win so she was packed off to the breeding barn and I am still waiting for her first crop.
I'm now extra careful on the first day of the season not to press any buttons until everything has been named.

 Re: Best Named Horses.....
I've started naming after actual horses to stop myself from giving terrible names to horses but I'm careful to make sure I only give good names to high potential horses! I'm still to use the name Frankel, I'm waiting till I get a guaranteed superstar 10 furlong horse!

Hahahaha exactly what I am doing, waiting for a terrific filly so I can name her Makybe Diva or Black Caviar.... Now can't get it out of my head........ Chill125 wrote: Made of Glue is my favourite named of my current horses. I get all my horse names by going to wikipedia and hitting random. Ahhhhh the Wikipedia idea is a good one!! First two articles I got were: 'Richard Vogt' and 'Georgios I of Makuria'.............. Don't ask........

 Re: Best Named Horses.....
With a hat tip to a local trainer whose name I can't remember and that great philosopher Saddam Hussein I've always loved this name. Gentlemen I give you...
