just did a bit of experimenting to try and find best time of season to export horses

Did 3 exports (Same Horse + Full fitness + ability bar same for all 3 periods of export)

Trojan Angel 3yo Filly miler

Export Period 1 (January) 7 days from start of season
Export Period 2 (June) Before Royal Ascot
Export Period 3 (December) Last day of season horse had not raced for 25 days

Results (12 trials per export period)
P1 average 138.5 - best 138.3
P2 average 138.5 - best 138.2
P3 average 138.4 - best 138.1***

so going by those results you take a small fraction off your best time by exporting on last day of season

That is really interesting to find out, always wondered but just could never be bothered to actually try it out and see if there was a difference. Have you actually started to follow this test up by actually doing it at the end of the season all the time now?...... or do you just have way to much time on your hands?

always have plenty of time this time of year with the flat season over starting to get busy again though
i now only export on last day of the season mate
was down at rosegreen and fetherd home of Ballydoyle & Coolmore at the weekend things bubbling up nicely for the start of the season

Any two year olds that are a bit special this year? Must be a few they have high hopes for i imagine.
