 Re: St Leger Trials
  Don't think I'm competitive at 12f. Just under 2:29 there. I think I'm closer at 14f though.

simpleminds wrote: lol thanks matt I need them does andy use pacemakers? Definitely . I expect the pace in league to be a lot slower but for breeding I base on the fastest consistent times horses run and I base the times off the fastest consistent pacemakers I have. I generally run two pacemakers and discard any races run where at least 1 pacemaker does not hit certain parameters during the course of the race.

 Re: St Leger Trials
Pace will be much slower and it is always worth checking how your trials turn out with a slow or medium pace.

 Re: St Leger Trials
Never use pacemakers. Haven't for many seasons. Find that it hampers your league string. And a lot of the time you find that your horses land up setting the pace for others. I wouldn't worry about my flat horses except my stayers.
My best horses, as always, are going jumping.

The same horses still are there or thereabouts. And even in an off pace race they can still run pretty close to my fastest times in some races For breeding purposes it's simply easier to have consistent pacemakers that push the fastest possible pace IMO.
