Re: Proposals for UKRA Flat SO5 season 1
I hate to tell you but you wont be winning the gamebred races!
I will tot up how many low band handicaps there are at each distance for each age and then look to add more where needed? I know there are already a few at 8 and 12f. Ascot week is always going to be top end races but we should look to add other races onto other weeks for trainers such as yourself. Im more interested in getting as many trainers in as possible and every trainer having at least one winner if not 4-5. Id rather that happen than I even enter one race.
Can we still add races to the schedule after this week lads?

Re: Proposals for UKRA Flat SO5 season 1
Im going to look at ALL the handicaps and make sure there is a fair share. Just need to add up the bands for each distance and age.
Will do it tomorrow unless someone fancies it now!

Re: Proposals for UKRA Flat SO5 season 1
Handicap bands?
At the moment Im trying to make more 0-75 and 0-80 races. My other thought is that a lot of the top handicaps are 0-100. Should this be increased to 110 now that the maximum rating is 140 with G1 winners likely to be rated 125+ and a G3 winner about 115? Is that about right? I'll also make sure there are some 0-90's at each distance as well.
Thoughts please...........
Ps in a twelve week season how many opportunities to run should each horse have? 6? Fewer or more?

i would up the band to 110 Matt with a stable size of 20 i think i would hope my horses get 8 runs up each i suppose it depends on level of ability & Down to horse management

Re: Proposals for UKRA Flat SO5 season 1
Good news on the handicaps matt I know this is my own Opinion I never understood why a horse can run only six times I would like to increase it to eight myself. We could up with hprses before the final couple of weeks already having 6 runs but thats my opinion but happy with 6 though

Re: Proposals for UKRA Flat SO5 season 1
I dont think we should have a limit on amount of runs its more how many races your horse will be able to enter. It will pay to have some older horses this season as opposed to SO4 where older horses were at a disadvantage.
I would like the races to have as much realism as possible but it makes it a bit tricky with the stayers races. Cant find enough big handicaps for 3yo+

If I have some get good marks they might not run till Ascot and then after that week12.

Re: Proposals for UKRA Flat SO5 season 1
i can tell you that in my extensive trials at all distances my 3yo are well behind 5yos and cant compete with them even with olders carrying weight pens i only have 4 or 5 3yo
i have dumped my epsom classic 3yo's they well behind and gone with older 1m4 horse have added another 1m6 3yo filly who can be decent at 1m4
