i think you will do extremely well i said that to you 6 months ago
and if you do and i expect you to then fair play you seem to have an incredible breeding op
maybe after this season you will write a piece for newbies with a few hints and tips how you run your breeding op
i think its always good to pass something on i would be lost without the help of Scatters and Thunderspark who past on there knowledge

I was though little surprised that you only sent 2 horses to trials thought you might have sent 13 of your 3rd or 4th best batch but thats
your business and i understand

at least with the trials i learnt so much my sprinters probably are group class maybe chance in g1s my stayers are not good enough and will be handicappers my 2yo are above adverage some are group quality all valuable info and dumped my older miler made room for another
sprinter that miler ran a shocker so happy to have another 5f sprinter in there

We'll see. I don't mind what happens. If I end up contesting handicaps and listed races then I hey I'm still going to be in there trying to win everything.

As for tips, let's wait and see what happens. No use asking for tips from a newbie whose never even been in the league is there? I wouldn't presume to have any special knowledge that hasn't been posted before. I have simply implemented what John and Thunders have suggested though probably in a very anal fashion . I have enjoyed it though even if it has at times been tedious but I've taken great pleasure in beating my own milestones and that's what's kept me going.

Let's just say I wanted to keep things wrapped up a little longer. I have a flair for the dramatic (esp when it blows up in my face)!.

The honest truth is I have faith in my horses. I don't know running them in the trials would say much. A lot of trainers in my opinion did not send their best especially at the classic distances where you'd expect there to be quite a few fast 3 year olds and there were hardly any fast 3 year olds in the trials.

As a point of interest I was surprised to see my horse, stormont, lead with a fairly clear advantage in the 1m 4f race. He only has a race handy instruction and is a gamebred, albeit a good one with 11 group 1'a, although he patently failed to stay as I suspected.

there's a strong possibility that your horse was the only horse with handy instructions rest probably held up or even pace instructions
hence this is why he led

Handy horses are very likely to lead. I had one do the same. So the pace is a lottery. When Scatters was around he bred his horses to be handy as SO4 disadvantaged hold up horses. That disadvantage has gone ( had numerous hold up horses run well )but you will get handy horses stealing races by setting slower than normal pace.

Most people will improve their stables in 2 weeks so its unlikely that the best horses were uploaded. At present only Broken Chain, Glastonbury and Musical Flirt will be part of my team. They all Nh. None of my flat trial team besides maybe my sprinters will be in my league team

AKHC has monsters, make no mistake.

As for pace it will be hit and miss. In the sprints a G1 even paced horse will set a quicker pace than a low level handicapper who is trying to make all. At a mile the pace will be fine and the fields for most of the races will be big enough to help this. 10-12f will be fine for the big handicaps but then for small fields and even some of the big races it could become tactical. 14f is 50/50 and 2m+ is a real lottery. I won a G1 last season over 2m that was run at an absolute crawl and the time was awful. As was last seasons Gold Cup which turned into a 3f sprint. The Cadran for some reason had a true pace about it and at the line they were strung out like washing.

So it will be interesting but hold up horses are definitely not at the disadvantage they were in SO4, but in a slow run race they still have to make up a lot of ground in a shorter distance than preferred and can have traffic problems etc.

I should've concentrated on the jumps.

Yeah Le Hazard did have handy instructions, although thought he would run a better race. He only won 2 G1's in his career, both were at Epsom the derby and the coronation, and both he won by at least 8+ lengths and set course records. Maybe he just acts well at epsom.

Out of curiosity does it make any difference as to whether you play and breed your horses on easy, normal or hard mode in the game?
I play on easy thats all as i dont really have too much game time so wanted to be successful relatively quickly which in game i have been. But werent sure how this could affect the horses you produce for the league.

No it doesn't. Simply affects how many horses and cash you get at the start IIRC.

exactly

drives me mad when people say you play on simple mode thats why you get good horses
hard mode less money and horses at start and thats all
