 training tips
Hi, i have many horses that have a great potential bar, but the light green doesnt come close to the dark green bar, and sometimes the horse never reaches the potential throughout their whole career, i was wondering if anyone had any tips to get a horses light bar to increase. thanks

 Re: training tips
Wait until they're 5/6, try NH with them or it just happens sometimes and they'll never reach their potential sell and move on.

 Re: training tips
Nope. Neither on the flat or over jumps. Like in real life those who *may* have great potential may never fulfill it. You can keep waiting, but it probably won't change much.

 Re: training tips
well there must be a way to either train them differently or do different things with them in order to try to improve the horses ability when they have a higher potential otherwise whats the point in the game, its all just luck

 Re: training tips
Or the reverse. If the point of the game was that ALL horses could be trained to their maximum absolute potential, now wouldn't that be boring? I much prefer the element of chance myself. Just like IRL, some horses will respond fully to training techniques and others wont. makes it more intriguing and keeps you guessing about each of your horses.

It's horse racing, the whole sport is based on luck.

 Re: training tips
what i mean is that the skill of a trainer is to try to get a horse to fulfil their potential, i just feel there should be a way, perhaps through training techniques, that you can inprove a horses current ability against their potential, rather then just buying a horse for lots of money and it being just as good no matter what you do, because i dont really see the training element to getting the best from a horse

 Re: training tips
But it isn't a game that emphasizes training, it is about racing. Maybe this can be implemented in the future, but in most cases in game and in life no matter how good the trainer is that horse just won't fulfill its potential. It's just the way horses are, that's why so many people love them and work with them.

 Re: training tips
you can improve the potential by correct placement of the horse in races. And By lightly racing a horse that has a light green bar early in career. Most of mine only fulfill their potential at 5/6 but then I don't race them much at 2 (1 or 2 starts ) on the flat or until 4 in NH.
