Why Thank You. Thank You Very Much. Don't Mind If I Do.
Appearing in the auction like a gift from heaven was this specimen. Sure, I'll be glad to take him off your hands! Thank you SO5 gods... Bramley Dancer

My best find was my first season- originally in the flat game looking for a national horse. Unraced 2m4f stallion comes up. Win with 130k. Takes a couple of seasons but he becomes champion stayer, going unbeaten and has founded my breeding 'dynasty'- the majority of my bet horses come from him or another stallion- they're like the three Arabians.

Yup these horses do come up for sale in auction sometimes. Nice find. I find it a chore to look at auctions though. If you're trying to find nice game horses one way is simply to start on easy and look for horses with rating of greater than 80 and look at their detailed stats. This is still my best find ever. I can't begin to emphasize how much it changed my breeding lines viewtopic.php?p=72343#p72343

Or do what I do when I did the Japan mode I put in a claimer in the showcase by putting claimers in a showcase some trainers throw some nice horse's in so you can sometimes pick up some good ones I also put in Claiming hurdles and chase's in my jumps mode I have pick up a few good ones.

If all the group races are sellers or claimers you get the best horses and can then breed monsters pretty easily.

Re: Why Thank You. Thank You Very Much. Don't Mind If I Do.
That used to be true but I think in SO5 Mark changed something in breeding. I played SO4 for a few months and breeding fast horses was much easier. I had sprinters down to league standard times in about 6 weeks of playing by following Thunders guide.
SO5 is different in that even breeding with multiple G1 winners doesn't always get you a faster horse. In fact selection of horse is the key. In my experience finding the right horse to breed from is much harder. It's not about finding a G1 horse that can run fast and just breeding many generations. That was the first thing I tried when I got SO5.

He is in the league. He will...probably lose. Lucky for me on my modded US schedule most of the big race days fall on Thursdays. The weekly auction day. A quick peruse and I decide if I want to dip in and snag a nag. Ones like this rarely show up in the auction.

Re: Why Thank You. Thank You Very Much. Don't Mind If I Do.
Saw this Stallion at the start of my 2021 Season and couldn't resist snapping him up. Hard to believe I purchased last years Derby, Grand Prix de Paris and St Leger winner for a fee of approx 1.5 mill! The Breeders Cup and Japan Cup at the end of the year looked to of been to much against the older horses, so I just ignored that. Anyway I decided to give him his first run out for my stable at the Meydan World Cup in the Dubai Sheema Classic and a further run at the Coronation Cup, clearly I have a big smile on myface at present
