Sorry ive uploaded horses after changing their rating to 75 but not resetting the horse completely. Should I delete then upload again? Its only the first three I think.

I just did the same thing but with all of my horses. How do you reset the horse completely?

Reading this thread and I'm slightly more confuzzled than normal. Do we change the ratings to 75 for flat horses? Which I did in the CK? Or do I put in 975? Or does TOM automatically set ratings when you upload? I don'ts know. Some help, please.

We should use 975 to reset a horse or all the horses in the list before uploading. The best way to do it is to pick your league team put them all in the exports folder, go into the race builder/horse files click on one and then enter 975. This will reset all the horses in the list and wipe all their race history.

Thank you. I just did that and I imagine I have to re-upload them again. It says I have no uploads left so I need confirmation on what to do.

Just wait to to see what Leon or Dave say. It might be that they can do a mass reset, but I doubt it. Dont do anything for now

Tom changes your ratings in Tom. This is used for rules for entries into races in the database queries. The race txt files update these ratings every week.

Tom uses a description of the horse files for entry etc

Tom CAN NOT access the horse file. This rating can only be reset in the game or the race kit.

All horse ratings were automatically reset in the last few seasons.

I only played the last two seasons of SO4 league and I had to reset all my horse's ratings to Flat 75 and Jumps 100 before uploading the first season we had a handicapper the second one we didn't and that caused problems with actual Group horse's abled to run in handicaps and win them (yes I know that can happen) but some where still running in 0-100 handicap's which wouldn't happen
when we did the trials the other week I changed all the horse's ratings in the race kit that had not been changed before upload.

I suppose me and Kev Can check before doing the races and reset which ones need to be Changed but tom doesn't do it automatically or I would of not have to change them for the trials so if you want leon I can change the ones I do and you will have to ask Kev to do the same to the races he runs to save anyone deleting and re uploading horse's.

We didn't have a handicapper last season because Steve quite days before the start. Recurring theme there I think. It did cause problems and sort of ruined the season as the racekit is pretty awful at rating horses after any race. I think Joe will make a very good handicapper and if he needs any help or opinions im sure there are people who can help him.


Maiden winners should not automatically jump to a certain rating as there will be some average maidens over the first two weeks, especially as there are some listed and group races for trainers to enter their best horses. But Joe has already said he will take into account the varying factors and just with real racing you can definitely get a feel for good and bad races. Races which will throw up winners or contains good horses and those which dont.

OK looks like races will be released on tursday/friday 4th 5th April

so Week 2 nomms will close next saturday night 6th at 12 am

So resetting your horses with 975 isn't needed? I need to know because my horses weren't reset when i uploaded them. They're reset now and ready to upload If I need to do it again.
