Aim low. Get all your horses into low band races and then work your way up if they are good enough. Its almost impossible to get group horses together in two weeks.

The flip side is it doesn't take that long to get good horses either. The key is to find the right game horses have a rigorous testing programme and then to have a good breeding strategy. I tried to show this in a set of posts here (well at least the finding good horses side of things).

Also some trainers will be working hard towards the next season already. Personally I am not and I suspect next season some of the trainers will overhaul me. Matt/Nashwan/Jalupen are just behind me or on par at some distances and if they are still committed to finding the next great horse then I am sure I will not be competitive.

I've done nothing for months and wont be bothering till after June with the flat. For the jumps I might do some breeding slowly over the next couple of months.

:P Paul. You're not a million miles away either :)

Anyone can breed fast horses. It's a question of correct testing and breeding. Finding good horses is a crap shoot but if you play enough games they will crop up.

I can confidently say this is probably the only season where I am fielding a full stable. Next season is going to be downsized for sure. I'll still be aiming for quality but I can't see myself continuing to work at every distance from 5f up to 1m6.

if you have backed up your ttf files you already have a head start i dont think game horses will do your breeding lines anygood now
i have experimented with this and 95% of game horses make my lines worse
my plan is to wait til season is over and breed the best performing lge horses
or just concentrate on a NHC stable as i have completely hit lucky there
one thing is i will ditch pacemakers and not have ck times
i had no pacemakers in nhc trials and they are performing alot better than flat team
Leon did tell me months ago ditch your pacemakers did i listen
although i will not pass judgement on my team until after ascot
i am now breeding to find an older miler and a bumper horse
luckly milers make great bumper horses so thats handy

i will prob ditch the 3yo milers after ascot swap 1 or 2 for older miler
i have too many sprinters and 2yo but schedule starting to pick up now and races are there for them
i gave up on 3yo classic team as was miles behind akhc and doc
i think maybe 2 or 3 swaps in window
also might bring in my second best 2 miler in to try and foil matt MC Coup

You need pacemakers for flat trials. Just realistic ones

You have to test in ck. If they aren't any good in the ck ditch them

oh you never trust good in game horses
you can have a horse win 30+ g1 in game and stink in ck
i only breed with ck performers

you need to get about 15 - 30 horses at a certain distance and run trials regularly
