The rest of my donkeys are still running.
For a 1st time trainer, it makes the league a worthwhile experience. Well done mate great feeling isn't it

As much as id like the best rating possible I think I and others can breed better for next season. I've not bred anything with him yet as was trying to introduce new stallions to the mares but I might just do some inbreeding with him now. I think I can produce better.

Review of week 5 runners: SuperCat wrote: Week 5 runners, hoping for better than last week. If not don't be surprised to read that a jockey killing serial killer is on the loose! Race 7: 1m2f Prince of Wale's Stakes: Oak Crystal Lodge: 13/16 Disappointing. He was hampered in the last furlong, but that didn't make any difference. He should prefer good ground, but he looked like he didn't handle it. I'll continue to aim him at these races until the time comes that I find a handicap, or something for him. Race 11: 1m4f Hardwicke Stakes: Oak Honduran Crystal: 8/17 I was really pleased with his run this week, he finished with the rest of the pack. Can't wait for him to step up to 1m6f next week. Race 16: 1m Royal Hunt Cup: Oak Charlie Wolf: 5/18 (again!) A good run, but he was out-speeded and stayed in the final half a furlong. He'll keep running in 7f-1m handicaps. Race 18: 1m2f: Wolferton Stakes: Oak Suffolk Crystal:15/26 She just couldn't quicken again. I might try to find her a race over 1m4f, but it may just be that she can't compete off her fairly high rating.

New uploads
All my 3 year olds except All About Eve have been retired. MY 5 year olds are much better so hoping for some decent performances
Mountainascent
Replaces the disappointing Confederate Fatale. 2 miles to 2m4 are within range. races handy which will be useful
High Society
Front runner 1m4 to 2m. Hopefully will get away from the field in some races.
Foreign Victory
Decent 12f horse but probably running for place money
Venetian
Hopefully will pick up some places 5 t0 7f
Pilrimage
The best of my new horses. Expecting big things. 10f/12f are both ok and loves Longchamp. Races handy which could be an advantage

Re: UKRA Trainer Talk Reaction & Banter
Quote: Re: UKRA Flat Week 5 races 1 Its obvious some people have exploited the distance rules to their advantage. And although no rules have been broken this goes against the spirit of the league.
Do then brag about this really shows a disrespect for all other trainers competing in the league.
The league was started on short notice so we could get some racing going. There some flaws in the set up. Exploiting these to your advantage is your choice but to then brag about this is disrespectful to all the othert hones trainers. What makes it worse is you complained about the horses initial handicap mark.
I'm not sure if this type of negative behavior is what anyone wants in the league. Its a sad state of affairs when someone goes to these lengths to achieve success in an online GAME.
2 Clearly this rule need to be looked at for next season. I would recommend a weight penalty for all horses running over a distance for the first time. But for now these type of threads are the threads That I want to eliminate going forward.
1 Don't want to start a new thread so I'll put it here. The first two weeks it was suggested to get a run into all or most of horses to get a rating. I did that and it just so happens that of the five horses who went on to win next time out it was at a different distance. I chose the first race for these (and all) my horses based on what race I thought best suited them knowing full well they weren't going to compete at the highest levels. 2 Maybe keep the current distance rule but limit it to within 1 furlong of best distance in first start? This is just a computer game and an online league and cheating to win never even entered into my thought process. As you can tell by my sorry group of donkeys.

Re: UKRA Trainer Talk Reaction & Banter
Entries for the week. This week is tough for the stables. Curragh/Sandown are two race courses that are not great matches for the horses. Taran goes in the Preakness and hopefully will do well with the jockey being threatened with torture if s/he doesn't give the horse a good ride! Nortia looking to be my first 3 G1 winner this season in the July Cup. Two new uploads Anyigba(2m) and Korobona(1m) being thrown in the deep end in G3 races. Sink or swim time for them. More confident about another new horse Quhalom running in a 10f maiden though this colt is really in the team for the mile races but have to get a run in somewhere to give me 2 options for the G1 Sussex Stakes coming up next week. Elsewhere the last of the 2 year olds gets his first run in the 10f maiden. Not expecting much (as I never do for any of the 2 year old races!)
