I have 7 colts that have run under 137.22

Comprende is my record holder he has hit 137.18 3 times he is super consistent too
in game i am currently breeding him with best mile mares from 3 different games

you will be there pretty soon paul..ahkc is in for a race with you and steve about to break 1.10 and 1.37

This is conrad Igor from the 2nd crop of Comprende and my fastest mile mare Artfull Dodger
he has just beat my best CK time which is now 137.17 he did not have much of a in game career
started the season as a sprinter and ended up being a miler



I think there is better to come from the 3rd and 4th crop
and i even think conrad igor can get close to 137.10 have not done many trials with him
at the moment he is my next sire have a few more crops to go through
best out of the 1st crop was Conrad Alexi who clocked a best of 137.21 in CK

Have not found a filly to crack 137.30 yet i have 12 who have clocked 137.30 -137.33

i went up a one way street yesterday breeding with milers from 6 months ago id say 4 or 5 hours wasted
as they only got a best of 137.4 in ck so i dumped that game and went with 2 quickest

It's not easy. I haven't devoted as much time to SO5 since Jan when this was one of the targets I set and really since the week 5 upload I've not done much breeding. Burnout definitely sets in especially when you're hitting a wall as most of the times I've set have been for me.

There really are two issues with breaking 1:37:00 or indeed any of the other times.

First up to 10f on a straight course (hence my trialling at Newmarket at 10f) there's the issue of whether the time is set in windless conditions or with a favorable tailwind. I suspect that whoever breaks 1:37 is going to be needing some wind assistance at least initially if my experience holds true. Without a favorable wind I'll do 1:37:2-3. With I can get close to 1:37 but never quite through it yet. One thing I've noticed about wind effect is that a high wind assisting doesn't affect the time positively as a high wind against which leads me to think some of these times are limited in some way by the race engine e.g. even with a high tailwind I'll cut .1s off but with a high headwind I'm looking at times 1:37:7+. Generally speaking I try not to quote wind assisted times as they are not a true reflection of what the horses can do.

The second issue is doing in consistently with a set of horses. Breaking these times is going to require a cohort of horses that can all run close to it. Having a single horse that can go fast won't do so. It's almost as if the horses need the competition to push themselves to run faster.

It's nice to see others catching up and trying to break these barriers esp as I suspect some of these times are limited by the race engine but can't prove it on my experience alone. If 2/3 others are struggling to break these barriers using their own horses then there's more evidence that these times are limited by the engine in which case I can stop doing any more breeding!

Interesting that you have such a disparity between fillies/colts. I generally see very similar times for both sexes as each generation shares the same parents. I would guess the difference between fillies/colts for me at all distances is .1s at most. Yours looks to be running .2 or therebouts. Perhaps it's just an anomaly and if you bred more horses from the same parents things might even out.

clocked sub 137.20 about 12 or 13 times

the top image is Conrad Ivan best out of 3rd crop but not as good or quick as igor
really feel im making big strides now



thats a hefty lump to take off in one go 0.005 is like breaking the record 5 times in one go
could be awhile before i break that pacemakers did a great job was perfection

I have a question if you run 3yos at ascot 3yo only or 3+ does it make a difference in what weight they carry?..
how do you get your colts to run at 9.0 because mine run I think at 9.3..

3yo or 3yo + same weight as long as there are no filly or mares in race then colts 3yo carry 9st 3lb intead of 9st

so select males only in ck and they will carry 9.0

Ah that's why there is such a big difference between your males and females.

You're running them as male only instead of open. If you ran the race as open regardless of whether fillies are in the race or not your colts would carry 9st3.

3lbs is a lot.. and in my testing would equate to about .07 to .1s slower. FWIW I think colts really need to carry 9st3 as otherwise they are getting an advantage the would not get when running against fillies. So in an open race your colts would run about .1s slower which means the difference between colts/fillies is only .1s which would be in keeping with what I observe .

Could you run them in an open race and show us what the fastest times are Paul? It makes comparison easier in that situation.
