Hit the proverbial brick wall of late

just getting to many samely horses

have equaled my best time by a colt 137.09

cant find a filly to get into the teens or get near great lady

i have just transferred in some stallions i held back

but might have to take alook at going back a few gens

i have covered some gamebreds but in all of my time playing i have never seen a gamebred line
improve Ck times once you get to a certain level

not giving up though

its very hard keep improving once you get to a certain level
maybe if Jalupen exported his best sprinters as pacemakers i would take a bit of the times

I'm toying with a return, I know I definitely have some firepower to build upon and plenty of time to do it in but I'm not 100% certain whether I want to return in truth, the league seemed to do fairly well without me in it over the last season so wouldn't want to rock the boat by returning.

Come back.. you know you want to :). Sides with those horses you're going to be right up there anyway. And what is the point of all the work you're putting in if you don't come back??

Welcome to my world . Not been cheeky or arrogant but I've been butting my head off these times off and on for the last 6 months.

Just a few thoughts because I don't want to influence to much what you and Jalupen are doing as you're the independent verification for what I've found in my breeding process.

Pacemakers only go so far. In fact once you get to a certain pace I've not found pacemakers help run faster times. The same times are clocked generally speaking, the splits are different that's all.

Gamebreds will improve your earlier lines but perhaps not these now. However inserting gamebreds into earlier horses and going down a parallel path and then bringing them into your lines? I've got to admit I've tried that already with no success.

The last question is whether breeding a whole new separate line from scratch that goes just as fast and breeding them with your current lines would help but that's an awful lot of work to do and the improvement is uncertain.

Post Re: Project - 137.00 Newmarket
My thoughts on this. I haven't bred with a game bred horse for over 20 seasons. Instead I have two parallel lines with some interbreeding between the two lines but not much. I'm now finding that my times are getting close to those put up. I have only play 6 seasons in each game since the league started but I have even got my milers down to close to these times.

I haven't followed the suggested route of restarting games ect. So it could be that you need to get deeper into a game to crack these times. Not sure how many seasons you play before restarting.

Andy what is the quickest 1m6 time you have seen. I'm getting 3.05 with loads of horses at present thats a 1-2 second improvement on my times before the league started.

My Nh horses are much better as well.

Another strange thing I have noted is that a horse who runs your best time will go slower in a race where there are new horses that go faster. For example horse 1 without horse 2 in race runs 2.33 for 1m4 but with horse 2 in race runs 2.33.4 or higher

thanks for the thoughts Andy very informative and insightful

i have a few ideas up my sleeve i do think i can keep improving but at much slower rate

from 26th June to now
i have gone from 137.23 - 137.09 so progress of 0.14 in 1 week
now id imagine to go from 137.09 - 136.95 will take alot longer

progress with the fillies has been far slower

137.23 - 137.15 so 0.08 in a week

Off the top of my head something like 3:04:20ish would be the quickest repeatable time. The quickest I've ever seen is 3 minutes flat but that is a freak time and I've not seen anything similar since. I don't think I've seen a time under 3:04:00 where I'm confident it's not a freak time I'll check when I get home later.

Don't mean to derail the thread but here are some 1m6f times I just ran this PM quickly as I had the files to hand.

Incidentally that's the fastest I've seen Narisah run. She'll run anywhere between 3:4:2 and 3:4:9 fairly often. I'm inclined to wrote the time under 3:4:00 as a fluke as I've run enough races with her to know that shouldn't happen

Not too far behind then only about 1 length. That is enough to be competitive

right time to get this back to 1mile

i have hit a brick wall and accidentally deleted the ttf file so have had to start 3 gens back
which to be honest i was going to do anyway as the lines had gone very stale

took a while but getting close to where i was b4 deleted file

heres a few new fillies out of comprende & Art attack

Image

Just Jenny clocked my 2nd quickest filly time

doing this is like banging your head off a brick wall the KGB should have used it as a form of torture
very few ups and lots of downs

but will keep going

Still plugging away its like chinese water torture at times
i tried to do what Andy suggested find a brand new unrelated breeding line
i got the new line down to the 137.30s but could not break that so after 20 seasons packed it in
i got very close to totally giving up altogether
i guess Jalupen must be in the same boat too it seems when you get so far you need a miracle to keep improving
i went back to the A line and found CK results to be most inconsistent which was annoying
but today i am making a bit of headway

few images coming no records broken for a while though
