 Re: Jumps Team Progress
Ok so bred and trialed some 3m hurdlers & chasers and some gold cup horses im not sure how good the gold cup horses are i only had 3 eyed fish and hot dog condom style to trial against and they were brutal in the lge but these newbies hammered them also not sure how good the 3 mile hurdlers are lythical true swiss and daring looper did ok in lge but struggle to stay 3 miles one things for sure got no where near Ghostzappers times even though i trial on 5yo + they were a good 7 8 secs off so no doubt in the future i will come back to these distances and breed the best of these with each other to try and find better but for now my team has 15 members have some 2m4 - 2m5 hurdlers and chasers and some 3m5 - 4m hurdlers and chasers to trail next

 Re: Jumps Team Progress
Don't bother with 3m5f-4m hurdlers, I don't think there are really any races over more than 3m for hurdlers in the league.

 Re: Jumps Team Progress
Paul I think times can be a bit misleading because they never go that fast in the league, even my two Twin Oaks and Greenbank Park run quicker fractions in my game trails than they do in the league.
Take these two horses for instance.
Shawiya 110050000 rated 122 Tourist Attraction 52163311 rated 150+ (3 grade 1 wins)
U look at those two horses thinking there's a massive deference but in my trials they had the same amount of ability. Some horses love the leagues style of racing and other horses hate it. It's a crap shoot and sometimes luck comes into it.

Hi Mate yes i was told by experienced trainers in NHC a few years ago not to worry about times its more about consistency especially in national hunt Updating the dual champs & Cup soon dreading to see how badly you hammered me

 Re: Jumps Team Progress
I've been running my trails the last three weeks and should be finished by tomorrow, just the 2m4 f hurdlers to do. I've got it down to 12 horses in each category. I've finish my jumping breeding until the new year when i'll do a little more then run the Finals Trials.

 Re: Jumps Team Progress
A few new team members to show you Squad has 24 in it now Dundee Sheela is incredibly talented distance wise she won my 2m5 chase trials was 2nd in the 3 mile trials and excels over the gold cup trip winning the 3m2 chase trials never had a horse be so constant over that wide of distance again i have no clue how competitive the times are I need another gold cup horse so will be breeding the heck out of Sheela prob crossed with Alvaro Di Matteo who dominated the 3m trials but its back to my 2m5 & 3 mile hurdlers need 1 more each of them

 Re: Jumps Team Progress
Paul I like my three milers to go sub 6.00, but I use open. Plus my horses are front runners so it's easier for me to get even run races.
I think Dundee Sheela best distance is 3m2 going by those times, i think she should be gold cup class time wise.

Cheers ghostzapper she will have a few options come lge time but agree gold cup has to be main target just bred this nice fellow won Champion hurdle by 5 lengths Aintree hurdle by 7 lengths and Puchestown Champ Hurdle by 9 lengths will ck trial him when he turns 5

 Re: Jumps Team Progress
I've just run a couple of trials Paul and my current league horses run ~ 2-10 secs faster than yours at 2m5f, 3m and 3m2f. I don't think times really mean anything at all over the jumps, but if you are aiming for times then you might have to go quite a bit quicker because most of my current league horses aren't even graded class.
Personally though I think it is more to do with consistency and jumping ability than times.
