Only managed a 4th & 5th so far but that's the first time I've got in the money in any maiden so my horses are improving. They don't disappear off the the screen any more.
Trouble is my best horse may struggle due to her running style.

Castellet (9th) - May need to go up in trip but that was still a poor run
Liquid Luna (19th) - Sulked when headed a long way out. Should be handicapped well now though and improvement is expected
Milth (8th) - Very good run, she has a good chance of picking up a win this season
Bus Link (4th) - Given an easy lead and held on for 4th. Probably not as good as the result suggests but we will see. First prize money on the flat this season!!
Franken (7th) - Stayed on well at the end, may need another furlong
Nice Pair (10th) - Detached early on but stayed on ok, will improve over another furlong
Sweet Luna (11th) - No luck in running but still a weak performance

Thanks to the team for running the races and I very much enjoyed Davy's commentary again!

Congrats to all winners and placers

Had a pretty decent day with the majority of my runners running better than expected. Spin Zone ran like I thought he could. Doesn't win often but always is there. My big hope Take Notice ran well enough but I knew a mile was too short and she had a less than ideal trip. The game plan is the Dubai World Cup where she excels at the trip and the surface. She will make a big challenge for the top prize but will she be good enough? Oh the anticipation. :o

wow what a race we had in race 23 Deadly Dozen vs Ghostzapper vs Bahariya
Great Comms too

Deadly took it up and was swallowed up in the final furlong but really liked the way he battled back and i think
another half a furlong he would have come back to win i cant imagine worse ground for him like the turn of foot
Ghostzapper showed blew past my fella but could not hold of nashwan's which was looking for a handicap mark
i think all 3 of us can take positives out of the race

My only other runner was Finnly in the 2m4 maid he was 4th

R1 Hedgeley Road (6th) - ran ok but will be more competitive in nurseries, I hope.
R24 Bright Orange (6th) - very one-paced last 4f. probably wants further and in hindsight race 25 would have been a better option.
R29 Killing Time (11th) - trip was too far.

R21 - Jar of Honey - 3rd - Flew home - needs further so a good run
R22 -Dragon Lord - 4th - needs a mile - raced wide and finished strongly so happy with run
R24 - Parliment - 3rd - Challenge petered out as it was too far. Winner was impressive though
R25 - Country Vacation - 1st - Needed every inch of the distance to get up. Hopefully we will get soft ground for some of the staying group 1's

Its shaping up to be a good season

Better day for me

R21 Bint Mutebah (1st) - Ran well nice to see her get her head in front on ground that don't suit her better on Good G/F ground
R22 Rock Hopper (2nd) - Ran a good race, found 1 to good on the day, i hope he can meet this winner again on better ground
R23 Barariya (1st) Good race to watch i think the 1st 3 home will all win a group race this season, happy with the win on ground he would not like, will be better on better ground
R26 Enough Said (5th) -Ran ok he don't like turf likes dirt but had to get a race in to him before Dubai, next up Golden Shaheen Dubai
R27 Lahan (1st) - Great run at 7f better over a mile, next up Godolphin Mile or the Lincoln off maybe top weight
R28 Farhaan (5th) - Pulled the jockeys arms off in 1st 2 furlongs then chance had gone after that may go Sheema Classic next week
R29 Zuboon (5th) - Never really got into the race, needs another furlong to be seen at best, maybe Derby horse
R30 Moobty (2nd) - Thought he would take all the beating but found one to good on the day maybe go down in trip see how he gets on

Well Done all winners & placers

Czaribello (110) won the Spring Cup with a gritty performance, battling back to get the lead in closing stages. She now goes for the Nell Gwyn in week two, and will then look towards the 1000 Guineas where she should play a hand.

Czaeria (105) impressive all-the-way success to open his account. Never looked like getting beaten really and set a strong gallop throughout, running all the way to the line. He goes for the Craven in wk2, and will then head for the 2000 Guineas.

Epitaph (105) broke her maiden at the first time of asking and did it very well drawing away from Lemon Souffle in the closing stages, she looks like she'll pay her way. Will go for the Brocklesby in Week 2.

Diocletian (96) this horse is very good and has been the basis for some of my very best breedings across the lines. Disappointed with this effort but was given a bizarre ride in defeat, I suspect he's much better than this, looking forward to getting him on turf and he'll win something decent.

Fastnet Rock (101) tried to sit handy throughout and couldn't repel the late challenges. Will send him for the Duty Free next week but my guess is he isn't any great shakes as I bred him almost a year ago now and most my horses are retired at 3 (unless they're my NH crop who are crap on the flat).

Heisenberg (105) really impressed with this free-rolling gritty battler. He loves to get out there and lead and doesn't know when he is beaten. He'll be campaigned with the Epsom Derby in mind, and I think he'll take some stopping if he runs like I know he can.

Nathaniel (105) an impressive debut from this hold up performer. He'll be campaigned with all the big 6F races in mind, the Coventry Stakes at Ascot and the Middle Park the two chief targets at this stage, he looks alright.

Pastoral Sky (110) quickened up impressively to draw right away from his rivals. He'll be better when upped to 2m4f, although he has shown enough speed over 2m so we could come back in trip for the Dubai Gold Cup next week.

Rifleman (102) narrowly edged out in a battle royal but showed he is capable of winning a race. We'll aim him at the 5F races, and could line up in something like the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Secure Point (100) undone by the lack of pace. She's a very smart filly, and I expect big things from her this season. Still undecided between her and Zero Days for the Oaks, I've entered her in a 1m5f maiden next week, hopefully she'll get off the mark there.

Skivecia (105) beaten on debut but plenty to like about her performance. She heads for the Golden Shaheen at Meydan next week where she'll run a blinding race.

Storm The Skies (98) couldn't reel in the pacesetters and running style suggests he probably isn't going to do anything great in the league. Going for the Al Quoz Sprint next week and depends on that run where we'll go next.

Triolo Dalene (102) caught out off an absolute crawl of a gallop. Kept on stoically towards the end only to just narrowly fail. Looking forward to sending him for the Queens Vase on Ascot week where he'll take plenty of stopping.

Zakhm (96) didn't really get any sort of run and isn't anywhere near my best to be fair. He'll be sent for the Sheema Classic next week and he seems to run well at Meydan, not sure where he'll go thereafter.

Zero Games (110) won the Winter Derby with a strong late surge to wear down the lead. He'll now head for the Dubai World Cup where he has to have solid claims, the longer straight will certainly suit him but it depends what the pace is like.

Zuniga (108) quickened impressive to win drawing right away. He's equally as good over 10-12-14f but needs a good pace to aim at. Won't be going to Epsom as isn't as good as Heisenberg there, but might rock up at Ascot for something, and then looking further down the line to perhaps a tilt at the Arc.

All in all 8 winners on the week which is superb going, and 14 in the top four from 16 runners. Looking forward to what should hopefully be a good season.

A mixed bag today.

Ghostzapper 2nd, over the moon, gives me options to run on the grass now.
Flourshing 0, the worst performance ever by one of my horses. Wow.
Carry on Katie 2nd, nice start to the season will run in the better sprints.
Sun Princess 3rd, fantastic run but will struggle to win because her running style is not suited to the league.

Little Frankie (15th) - Reluctant to load and finished last. She is probably my best flat horse so could be well in at the weights now.
Mince Pie (8th) - Didn't expect much but he did ok
Stand and Stare (5th) - An excellent gamebred and made the money. Good start
Moohimm (5th) - Very much one paced and would not have enjoyed the soft ground. Encouraging run
William Strider (9th) - Rubbish, nothing else to say
Get What She Wants (2nd) - WOW! It was a falsely run race but she is one of my best so hopefully she can compete for some decent prizes.

Very good day for me on the flat.

Well done to all winners and placers this week

Can anyone answer this question please? Does your horse get the same weight penalty for winning a Group 1 Handicap as you do for winning a straight Group 1?
