If i copy it to my usb stick from old laptop and paste it into saves on the laptop will it effect any of my current saves?

I only wanted to say thank you, I will try to not breed with the horses as I might come up with the desire to join the league one day. I just wanted to take a closer look at what a real good horse must look like.
I've spent quite some time reading the threads and breeding the heck out of the game, as well as starting a zillion new games to find a decent gamebred (which has proved to be a real pain, as there has been only one decent horse every 50th game or so... actually it felt more like every 500th game, but that was just me being impatient). But when I look at those nice racers, I guess I'm still far far away from that.

But there's one thing that really got me confused... why are there so many horses in multiple versions in the breeding barn? Do you always breed with several versions of the same horse in the same game?

Welcome aboard Illyria. From my experience you get a lot less decent new game gamebreds in the UK schedule than the US schedule. I've played the US schedule almost exclusively because well I'm in the US. Maybe it was just the luck of the draw but it seemed to be the case.

As far as PJ is concerned multiple versions of the same horse are common. I believe in the previous league season he had a horse named Aidans Pride IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII.

i export every horse to the gamepool but only keep the good ones and back up the ttf file so you never loose good horses

Is it enough to have the ttf file, like that you export for the ck? 'cause I've messed up my first game with a real decent filly I had bred. I sent the filly to the gamepool and imported her into a new game, but then I accidently clicked the cross and ended the game without saving first. I still have the ttf file in the ck, but I didn't find a way to get it back into the game.

you have to back up the ttf file or you loose every horse once they are transferred into a new game
but if you copy the backup and paste it into save folder the horse comes back
