One word Devastated. Twice I've sent a unbeaten dirt horse to the Classic and twice they have bombed out.

I did think Dicoletian would lower the colours of Ghostzapper this week John, but didn't count on Nash throwing in a curveball and his horse running huge!

I just looked back at my trials and he went half a second quicker than the winning time but he was very average/poor at Santa Anita. I looked at his trials and in 5 races finished second twice and three times unplaced. At Churchill and Pimlico ran 12 times won 7 and finished second 4 times. Looking Back Queenledo should have run in the Classic

Bus Link (2nd) - Beaten a long way in a match
Stand and Stare (9th) - He's been very poor recently
Sweet Luna (1st) - After a couple of near misses she gets off the mark

Only 3 runners but delighted to get another winner

Thanks to the team again, only 1 week to more week to go guys

I did do a few trials to see which was my best horse over the SA 10f, and Diocletian came up much the best. I even threw Ghostzapper into a couple and as you say, he is superb at Churchill and Pimlico, and even Belmont but he just doesn't like Santa Anita for some reason which is a real shame as it would have been good for him to go unbeaten on the dirt.

Still though you can't complain really, the first ever league Triple Crown winner in the history of the game, hats off to you that's an outstanding achievement.

Winning the Kentucky derby was always the aim so to win the triple crown was a bonus.

Perhaps it'll be a aim for SO 6, the classic and the Gold Cup over jumps.

Meh I've had worse weeks. Was winless all week until my very last entry won. The highlights...

Race 9 - Hard To Miss - 3rd - Got a nice piece of that inflated Japanese stakes purse money. Running beyond all expectations.

Race 10 - Speedball - 3rd - Also got some of that juicy Japanese purse money. A product of breeding my fastest front runners to see what I get. Can take all the pressure and still run on at the end.

Race 26 - Character Flaw - 5th - Yeah only a 5th but it was a nice check in the B.C. Mile. Character Flaw rallies from way back in 5 to 7 furlong races but at a mile in CK he always tries to be on or near the lead which I find somewhat interesting. I saw a lack of pace in the Mile and took a gamble that paid off.

Race 29 - Come On Now - 1st - Wins her 5th race of the season! Very proud of this horse. Thought of as a second stringer but has excelled in the bottom 'Caps stealing races on the front end. If she is in front at the final furlong marker she wins.

Great racing again y'all and congrats to all winners especially those who came over here to the USA and won the Breeders Cup races! Thanks to the admins for another smooth week in racing.

Let the last week commence... :(

I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in running the league, it's been great fun and to wish everyone good luck in the final week.
OK if I'm honest good luck to all of you in the 10 races that my horses are not competing in :D :D :D :D .
Have managed to enter up all 20 horses (no point staying in the stables now) but 1 or 2 are in races they have no conceivable chance in, so would probably be happy with half of them winning
All the best to all of you, see you in SO6.
Darren

Only one runner and a nice win, sorry to everyone in that race because he shouldn't have run. I don't like to downgrade horses because I think if u horse has won a group 1 or 2 then u shouldn't run in group 3's, I think other horses should been given a chance to win, I only ran because of my battle with Jamie for the cup.

Hector Protector 1st, has been 1 or 2 in every race, it was a nice way to go out on for my 2 seven Furlong horses who have both been star's and who I spent a lot of time on. :D

Bus Link (1st) - Won his match easily to win his 2nd race of the season
Looney (4th) - Best run of the season, bit late now....
William Strider (4th) - Decent enough run, good season for him
Little Frankie (4th) - Led near the finish but got swallowed up. 3 wins and easily my best flat horse this season
Cigarettes and Alcohol (6th) - An uneasy leader and finished last. Finishes the season as a maiden
Stand and Stare (5th) - Best run for a while, remains a maiden
Get What She Wants (4th) - Jockey didn't push until 2 furlongs to go and it was far too late. Overall, she has had a good year

1 winner and only 1 missing out on the money can't be a bad day.

Sirius is only 3 winners behind me now in the Dual code championship. Tom Rogers is only 1 further behind :?

R4 Midday Sun (10th) - handicapper having a day out. ran well enough but was well outclassed in the end.
R5 Scripture (3rd) - ran ok but could never get to the winner. could have done with an extra half furlong.
R6 Paperback Writer (3rd) - has been pretty dire most runs so pleased to see her finish in the places.
R9 Formidable (2nd) - gutted. jockey decided to challenge at the end of the back straight and raced wide all the way round the final bend which blew his chance. would have won with a more patient ride.

well done all winners and placers.

Ahead of my week end round up I just want to salute my handicapper Come On Now who scored her 6th win of the season. Before the season I would of been happy if she had managed a placing. A second stringer cast off front runner who when she is leading at the final furlong always wins.

R11 - Enchanting - Very poor. Thought I'd got her favourably weighted for this after a couple of poor efforts on galloping tracks but she just never got into it today, huge effort by the winner.

R13 - Pastoral Sky - Finally shows what he is capable of. He's been unlucky this year in that all his races he's had no pace whatsoever to aim at, this was fairly similar here but he was moved forward at the right time by his jockey, a good ride.

R14 - Smarty Jones - Massive run off top weight, looked like he was going to win as they approached the furlong but was just run down by Sirius' well weighted front-runner and posted a game effort to finish second on his final league start, a real smart dirt horse who proved he was also capable on the grass.

R16 - Encke - Finally got his just desserts after a shocking ride in the St. Leger, he returned to form here after a below-par run at the Breeders Cup meeting, just holding on all out in a thrilling finish off a big weight. Nice to get a big Australian win, as did feel I'd struggle this week and kept entries to a minimum., now I've got two.

Roll on tomorrow, would love to win the Golden Slipper with Epitaph, who returned to form last week with a bang after a couple of weeks in the wilderness.
