Ok Josh improved, god knows how many starts he made to find those horses and good on him to have that resolute.

Less than you might imagine. My main NH game is still my original started likely not long after SO7 came out, I have tried two other NH saves experimenting but that has really only proved my theory on NH. I would think based on what i look for in a game start I probably did far less restarts than people think, you have to get a game going to know what you have you can’t just restart and find magic you have to search for it and then nurture it.

Flat has likely had more, my original AUS save I abandoned after 70 odd seasons may have been more and started my US save, more recently I started a UK one and still play both of these saves for the league. I have had a few other flat games but not many and the UK one I played was the first one I accepted, I do not try hundreds of games to get one I liked.

If you want my honest view the things that separate me and other top tier trainers like Vinny and soon to be Paul P is breeding. You have to make the horses not find them and then swirl around the components until it all sticks. That’s the time and luck aspect, not starting games over and over. I also think being willing to manually train gives me an edge, I can do more to my horses than auto trainers can.

Josh

Completely agree with the training. My first ever save which was a non league save I had manual training. You can get so much more out of your horses, but it is a lot of faffing about at times. So when I started a league save I wanted to save time so I switched to auto training.

Thanks for labelling me a soon to be top tier trainer!

For the record, if there was to be another season of SO7 then I would enter a full stable.

No denying it’s a faff, I also think you can spoil horses if you take them in the wrong direction or don’t maximise their racing. Right now I am trying to figure out which are my best 1.4m flat horses from the 27 who have made the final trial, there is nothing between them and the 5yo Heart of Oak is trying her best to keep up :)

I really hope there’s one more season, but to be honest I’d just like to know one way or the other. I also manual train but have only done 30 combined seasons. So miles behind most people’s.

The flat trails are a Royal pain in the backside compared to the jumps, u can always find u best horses over jumps where they are more random on the flat. I haven't missed running these for the last few years. :o
