Post Re: CK & Trialing
I really dont see the point in having the stats in this game as they simply dont work as far as I am concerned. There is something 'under the hood' that effects performance which isn't determined by any of the stats we see.

The reason I say this is because I have 3 5f horses who are all bred very closely (same sire & similarly related mares). They have the same initial stats, incredibly similar detailed stats, have the same running style yet run significantly different times. Horse 1 = 58.5, Horse 2 = 58.9 & Horse 3 = 59.4.

Horse 1 and Horse 3 only have one difference and that is in 'cruising burst' where Horse 1 is one notch higher.

Horse 2 has a slither less potential than the other two, as well as two notches less battling qualities but about half a bar more training adaption. I could understand why Horse 2 is slower than Horse 1, but why is he quicker than Horse 3!?

I dont expect close relatives to all perform to the same level in real life (or in the game as such) but if your going to provide 'stats' then they have to be accurate. Although I have previously thought they might be pretty much useless for breeding, but this just confirms it for me.

I dont think they are useless. I have had several mares who had full potential who either never realised it, or even if they did they still were average in the game. However in the breeding barn they have helped produce three of my best horses over 1m2, 1m4 and 1m6. I am yet to try this with a stallion, currently have one now who has full potential but dont think his ability will ever match that. I am tempted to breed him with 5 mares quickly now and then another 12 over the next two seasons and see how he gets on.

Im sooooooo far behind with the times! Looks like I'll be in the lower band for the first season.

From what I have seen, the potential ability bar is the only one really worth noting but even then ones with 100% fulfilled potential might by complete nags in the CK.

They were better in the ck than they were in the game. They were listed/G3 in thhe game but the same level as multiple G1 winners in the ck.

I've just done 2:32 with a 4yo over 1m4. Is thjat good?

That was a few weeks back. Teaching 9-11 and 3-5 Mon-Fri now. I haven't played much, about 2 hours a week. The 1m4 2:32.8 horse came from my 1m2 horse which was 5L better than anything id previously bred. He should start some good lines from 1m+ I hope.

Didn't realise there was this thread here about times. A pictures says a thousand words. So here's two

Don't ask me what they run at 4 as I haven't run them at 4. I export to ttf.dat at the end of age 2. Then run them through halfway of season 3 and export for trial. Then move on to more breeding. FWIW I'm still at the stage where I'm breeding the next best thing as I believe there is more to be had. I suppose the only problem with the way I do this is I won't have any 2/4 year olds to run  but hey I'll settle for trying to win what I enter!
